Welcome to the new decade! Our team is now back for 2020 and ready to help you.
We hope everyone is staying safe during the fires. Our thoughts are with all affected and any families and communities hurting.
Many of our own team members have been impacted by the fires over the break as well.
One of our team members family lost 2 homes in Bodalla over Christmas Day (pictured).
We’ve had employees and their young children evacuated from their homes in Tapitallee, Ulladulla and Shoalhaven Heads.
Some with parents/grandparents that needed rescuing from coastal towns cut off by the fires. One team member made a 4 hour return boat trip from Shellharbour to Manyana and back to evacuate family members stranded on the beach.
It’s a time when all Australians can and do pull together to support one another and of course we all stand in awe of our unselfish RFS firefighters, along with all the other critical support services that are helping so many Australians in this time of need.

These guys did it really tough but due to great planning, preparation and then executing on the plan they managed to rescue every animal from the fires and we understand most of the zoo facilities as well. A great story of teamwork and trust.
Here’s a recount of the event by Chad Staples the Zoo Manager:
A great Zoo to visit when this is all over. They deserve your support.
Despite a rough start to 2020 we are incredibly optimistic about the year ahead. There are lots of positive things happening and we look forward to working with you all as the year unfolds.
